Astghik Waterfall is one of four waterfalls located in the territory of the «Khosrov Forest» State Reserve. The waterfall was named in honor to a pagan Goddess in the ancient Armenian mythology. Astghik Waterfall is mythologically associated with Vahagn Waterfall: in the pagan pantheon Astghik was the goddess of beauty and fertility, the wife of Vahagn, the God of fire and war.
You can get to Astghik Waterfall by jeep or UAZ, then by hiking (the total length of the hiking route is about 6 km; the hiking is of medium difficulty).
