The Vardablur lakes are located in the Lori region of Armenia, not far from Vardablur village, at an altitude of 1325 meters above sea level. There are totally five lakes here. The three lakes that are located next to each other are of different colors; that's why they are called the three-colored lakes. The lakes are surrounded by weeping willows and dense forest. There is also a small island here that can be reached via a bridge.
Vardablur village is located in the Stepanavan district of the Lori region, 19 km north-west of the regional center of Vanadzor city. The village is spread out on both banks of the Gargar River. The highest point is Mount Surb Sargis (1550 m).
