Overview

1 day: Yerevan

  • Arrival, meeting at the airport, transfer, hotel accommodation
  • Free time, rest in the hotel
  • Lunch or dinner at a national restaurant
  • Yerevan city tour (center): Opera and Ballet Building, Abovyan Street, Aznavour Square, Republic Square, Northern Avenue
  • Cafesjian Museum (Cascade) or Matenadaran (Museum of Ancient Manuscripts) (optional)
  • Rest in the hotel in Yerevan

Day 2: Khosrov Reserve and Garni

 

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Arch of Charents. The place of the arch was not chosen by chance. From here you can see the wonderful view of biblical Mount Ararat. The words engraved on the arch belong to Yeghishe Charents, one of the most popular Armenian poets, who here wrote about legendary mountain, and that is why the people called this area  “The Arch of Charents”.
  • Khosrov Reserve. In the territory of the reserve, a 6-km hiking awaits us to the mysterious Vahagn waterfall hidden in the rocks and fabulous Astghik waterfall (with a bath!). In the ancient Armenian mythology, the Goddess of beauty and fertility Astghik was the wife of the God of fire and war Vahagn. It is desirable that your shoes should be non-slip (!) and sportswear, clothing should be comfortable. It is better to have a hat and sunglasses with you.
  • After visiting the waterfalls, UAZ will take us along dizzying mountain paths to the  Aghjots monastery complex (the 13th century). From here you will have a picturesque view to the mountains.
  • On the way back, we will stop at the tumble-down church of Bayburd or Geghmahovit (the 5th century). According to the inscription preserved in the church, Bayburd village existed until the 17th century. The Armenians were evicted from here in 1604 by the Persian Shah Abbas I.
  • Then we will visit the natural monument “Symphony of Stones”, which presents a gorge with rocks consisting of huge basalt pillars hanging above the ground at a height of about 50 meters. Their special shape in the form of hexagons and vertical arrangement resemble organ pipes, in connection with which the monument got the names "Stone Organ", "Basalt Organ" and "Symphony of Stones".
  • Dinner in  Garni gorge, where you can taste the famous Armenian trout .
  • Garni pagan temple of the 1st century AD, you will see it under the evening illumination, which gives the temple an unusual and unique view.
  • Return to hotel in Yerevan

    

Day 3: Lake Sevan and Dilijan 

 

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Sevanavank Monastery (4th century)
  • Lake Sevan / where you can taste the famous Armenian trout or whitefish (optional)
  • Old Dilijan (19th century), historical street Sharambeyan, monument "Mimino", walking in Dilijan town
  • Haghartsin Monastery
  • Hidden waterfall in the forest (2-km hiking)
  • Picturesque lake Parz, where you can take a zip-line over the lake or go boating
  • Dinner or dupper at a restaurant in Dilijan, rest
  • Return to Yerevan

Day 4:

 

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visiting 4 churches in Ashtarak (Spitakavor, Karmravor, Tsiranavor, Mariane Churches)
  • Wine tasting at the Voskevaz winery in Voskevaz village, excursion in the winery, tasting of 3 types of wine + cheese treatment)
  • Free time in Yerevan, you can visit the famous Vernissage market to buy souvenirs and gifts
  • Visiting museums (optional)
  • Lunch or dinner in a restaurant, walking in Yerevan at night.
  • Departure, transfer to the airport
